"With a handful of tracks circulating the SoundCloud scene, this 'Percussic Rock' band is already well known for producing some seriously gritty, funky tracks, with some even funkier album artwork to boot. Allow 3 seconds of intro on either piece and you'll be hooked into their hypnotic driving sounds. This trio is a great example of why SoundCloud is so exciting. Where else can you listen to a genre so new and rare that Wikipedia does not have a page for it?" - Weekly Podcast.Net

Biography

"Shadowface is a collaboration of three musicians:
bitzone (percussionist/multi-instrumentalist from Germany),
Stone Catcherye (american singer/guitarist/songwriter) and
Unearth Noise (american guitarist/multi-instrumentalist/composer). Their sound is a hard-rocking mixture of psychedelic sounds, arabic grooves, a gritty edge and ethereal vocals.
bitzone's mix and production skills highlight the strengths of each musician, while presenting a focused and unique piece of alternative percussive psych-rock."

Shadowface "In Will & Doom"

"Pushing the boundaries of rock music is something that hasn't appeared to be a priority for some years now. That’s not to say that there exists no great rock‘n’roll music nowadays. It abounds. But rather than going forward, one might argue that rock has found itself going backwards at the turn of this century. Perhaps this shedding of the superfluous, this return to its origins was essential to ensure its survival. But upon witnessing Shadowface venture on a little explored path, that of percussic rock, one suddenly feels as though the genre just gasped in a breath of vivifying air. Not only is rock and roll still alive and kicking, it even has the potential to evolve! Shadowface is a collaboration between three solo artists. Alongside U.S vocalist and guitar player Stone Catcherye are Unearth Noise, also from the U.S, and bitzone. The latter is from Germany and responsible for the arresting percussions and electronics on this track. This trio is a great example of why SoundCloud is so exciting. Where else can you listen to a genre so new and rare that Wikipedia does not have a page for it? Let’s hope these guys keep exploring lesser frequented avenues of rock and making captivating music that crawls under the skin."

Shadowface "Hey Me"

"With a handful of tracks circulating the SoundCloud scene, this Percussive Rock band is already well known for producing some seriously gritty, funky tracks, with some even funkier album artwork to boot. If I wasn't in the right mind, you could easily convince me that Shadowface was Alice in Chains and Layne Staley resurrected. Allow 3 seconds of intro on either piece and you'll be hooked into their hypnotic driving sounds once again (assuming you’re into this hard-ass percussive rock)."

Shadowface "Blindside"

"Shadowface continue to follow their own interestingly twisted vein of rock. Blindside is thus coherent with the sound we already described on In Will and Doom and, much as we love musicians who explore several styles at once, it’s also fantastic to hear an emerging act get their claws real deep into a genre they’re dedicated to. To witness them uncover an intrinsic sound, one that can become synonymous with their name."
